Hi, I’ve been in a long distance with my boyfriend for 1 1/2 years. We see each other at least once a month where I usually take an hour flight. Sometimes I miss him a lot and I get into a funny mood where I would throw a little tantrum saying things I don’t want to fly. Everytime he’ll assure me things are ok but not this time. He said he loves me but doesn’t want to be with me. I kept calling him and he said he doesn’t want a girlfriend who lives 500miles away and he will soon ran out of airmiles to fund this relationship.
I took a flight and turned up at his door without notifying him. He was crying and telling me I deserve someone who can be with me all the time and there’s no chance we’ll get back together although I offered to move. He said I wouldn’t be happy if I move because I don’t have anything here. I was very emotional and I was saying stupid like I want to sleep with other guys. We ended up having sex that night and he said I can stay with him. But the next day, he wanted me to get in his car and he packed my stuff for me. I refused to get in his car, I walked away and he was chasing after me. I said “all you care about is money, you don’t care about me” soon he gave up and went to work.
He haven’t called or spoken to me since and it’s been a month. Everyone is telling me to move on. I’m trying but deep down I still want him.
What should I do next? Thanks..
Hi Katie! (Nice name)
Long distance relationships are difficult to manage. Looks like the both of you tried and stuck with it for awhile. Good for you! Let me say this.. you did nothing wrong. This is a valuable growing experience for you and you should make the most out of it. Remember the good memories and throw away the bad.
If you really want to see him again, your best hope is to cut off all communication with him. Delete him from everything and wait for him to get in contact with you. Never fly to meet him again. Let him do all of the flying.
If you have further questions, please let me know!
